Hooked beak of a nose. He is as slender as a steel blade and is quite tall – 6’. Long face – clean shaven. Long, straight black hair to his shoulders. Face rarely shows emotions, stone-like and weathered; it could’ve been carved from an anvil.

Dark greyish green clothes that would fade into leaf and shadow. Cloak is shades of grey, green and brown as it shifts in wind – it almost disappears at times, fading into whatever lays beyond it. Often rests his hand on the hilt of his sword when walking casually or resting. He was born in the saddle, and handles horses better then he does people. He handles his armoured horse with as much ease and more than many others. Due to his training, Simian is swift and yet can move without sound when required. His movement is very often that of an animal when hunting or tracking and he can move like death, if he so pleases and even with a wolfish, deadly grace. He is always very alert – very much like a hawk.

Character Details
Personality (at least 2 paragraphs): A quiet person by nature, and distrusting of many people. He will say much if required, but prefers to say little and usually only to those he trusts; such people are few and far between for Simian, with only Rianna, his cousin Ridon, and a few fellow Warders being the limit of what he would be pushed to call his "inner circle". There is always an underlying current of energy with Simian, due mainly to his intensity; this is something that he has learnt to control when necessary but has also realised can be quite useful whenever he is bothered by those whose company he prefers not to keep.

Generally quite intense as he is always prepared for a fight, or battle – for example, he could have his sword ready for battle in a heartbeat, even in his own sleep. He can seem utterly distracted by whatever his dark eyes scan and yet in the same moment be more focused than any other on the matter at hand. With the exception of Rianna, Simian is very reticent to most people, even other Warders.

Likes (at least 5, with a sentence for each):
Battle - Simian releases his tension on the field of battle and cannot deny that there is enjoyment in this for him.
Training - Despite having passed his tests to become a Warder years ago, he still enjoys sparring with his fellow Warders and even some of the recruits. It calms him.
Horses - Having grown up on a farm and a ranch, Simian has always had an affinity with horses; a connection which was only re-enforced when he arrived at the Tar Valon.
The smell of a smithy - He may not be a blacksmith, but ever since he arrived at Tar Valon Simian has always been fascinated by the making of various weapons and so spent as much time in the smithies of the island as possible.
Travelling - As a youngster he always enjoyed walking or riding long distances and has since found plenty of opportunities to further this enjoyment as a Warder.

Dislikes (at least 5, with a sentence for each):
Traitors - Holding a deep dislike for lies and those who misdirect in general, Simian does in fact think of people who deliberately betray their cause or those who hold trust in them as the lowest of the low.
Ale - Any mind-altering substance disrupts ones capabilities and this he cannot abide, but ale in particular is all too common in Simians opinion. After all, he is dedicated to his calling.
Rotten food - It is wasteful and shows a lack of initiative to let it become rotten.
The Red Tower - He is extremely suspicious of Sisters of the Red Ajah, and believes that some very old habits die hard. Of course, this is an extremely private dislike.
Laziness - As a Warder, Simian is efficient by nature and finds that excessive laziness can lead to problems.

Character History
Family: Rytun Dacascos - Father.
Almer Dacascos - Mother.
Ridon Akuin - Cousin. And his family, though they are of course extended.

Personal History: Born to a rich, former Saldean general and the daughter of a general of Andor, Simian has always had battle in his blood and it has been long expected of him to become a Warder.

As a child he lived on an estate owned by his father in Andor; this was occupied by their large house, a farm, and a ranch. Despite living here mainly, he would often travel to Saldea with his father where he would stay with his father's family who also owned a ranch. Between his idyllic, yet rural lifestyle upon the estate in Andor and the privileged time spent in Saldea, Simian was well taken care of yet his father would make sure humility was well and truly ingrained into his son by having him work first on the farm, and eventually with the horses. He soon found a love for the animals, yet was also kept in check by the hard work it takes to care for them. Before long, his education and natural ability with the sword saw a desire to travel to Tar Valon and train to become a Warder in the White Tower. His mother had wished this for some time, and his father felt nothing but pride at this ambition; so it came to pass that at the age of 16 he travelled to Tar Valon with his father and was taken on as a Recruit by the Tower.

Life was as hard as it could ever be for a sixteen year-old boy in the Tower, but Simian enjoyed it; not only had his time working on his fathers farm and ranch provided him with enough humility to keep himself out of trouble, but his hunger to aid in the acheivement of the goals of the Tower and what he has always seen as the side of right which Aes Sedai stand upon. Of course, during his training he picked up on the various workings of the Tower and Aes Sedai in particular; his education as a child had taught him of politics and even the complex ways of women, though the latter coming mainly from his mother and aunts. It wasn't long before Simian became a favourite of most of his teachers and even caught the eye of a few of the women of the Tower... though it is common for the women to take a liking to Recruits, especially those well built muscularly and well versed in the forms of the sword, such as Simian had become. Hard training and the teachings that Recruits undertook had moulded Simian into a dangerous weapon, both swift with the sword and deadly at a moments notice, many of his teachers and even some Aes Sedai agreed that he would make a fine Warder; in fact, his first teacher believed him likely to be bonded to an Aes Sedai of the Green, or possibly Yellow Ajah. How well the master can know the student...

It was roughly around the age of thirty, when Simian had been travelling quite often with other Recruits on missions for the Tower that he would eventually become bonded. In the South of Andor, not far from the border to Murandy and the River Storn, where Simian and a few fellow Recruits, lead by Warders, were sent to investigate claims of Trolloc raids on a village. There was no sign of Trollocs, but in fact it seemed as if this was just another false alarm during the more stable days of the world, what with the Dark One and his Forsaken locked away. However, what was obvious to Simian and his fellow Recruits was the gang element within the village and its surrounding neighbours, even if the Warders and their Aes Sedai held little interest. Simian could not ignore it, though, and on a particularly dark, cold night he was stalking the shadows of the night near the tavern where the group was residing and came upon some of these gang members attacking a woman. Before they could so much as cut here, though, Simian laid the thugs to waste with his sword and thus saved the woman who would soon after bond him as her Warder... Rianna Dequenne.

Personal Goals and Philosophies (Accepted/Aes Sedai/Warders):

His battle ground is wherever Rianna is and he would fight to bring her out alive whatever. He would keep her under his watchful eye as much as possible. His path will always follow hers, as he sees Aes Sedai as on the side of Right, so it is his love for her that bonds them completely.

Telalin Tovanen Fea

Telalin Tovanen Fea
Thief of Tanchico

"You never know what is enough,
until you know what is more than enough."

Character Attributes
Character's Full Name: Telalin Tovanen Fea (Tel for short)
Status Desired (Red Tower, Royalty, or Citizen): Citizen of Tarabon (Born and resides in Tanchico)
Home Country: Tarabon
Age: 24
Appearance:

Height: 5'4''
Eye Colour: Dark brown
Hair Colour: Dark brown with lighter brown and blonde streaks
Complexion: Even toned, and tans in the sun. In wintry climates has a healthy glow.

Telalin has no distinguishing marks or features. Her heritage is not easily placed; she has no obvious physical attributes of any particular people or country. It is hard enough to try and distinguish her when you can see her properly, but most of the time she hides her small, round face and hair colour (often dying it), even hiding her small stature and sex underneath her layers of clothing. In warmer climates this is harder to do; her home of Tanchico often forces her to don the veil and Taraboni robes and style of dress, something she deeply detests. Nevertheless she also often passes herself off as a boy as she is quite flat-chested (flat enough to strap/wrap her breasts tightly to fool most people). She has a plain face that might be reasonably pretty, if she wasn't trying so hard to not look feminine most of the time. Her small nose, beady eyes, thin lips and small ears give her a mousy look which a mirror rarely sees, let alone a member of the public.

Her hooded cloak and scarf cover her face and hide her body, which is generally clothed in brown and black slacks, a cotton shirt, and a long black and weathered travelling coat. Light suede boots shod her feet and her hair is cropped in a deliberately uneven bob that levels our around her ear lobes.

Her plain appearance is the perfect canvas for her disguises. Her face is easily changed and even though she hates looking feminine, she knows full well how to transform herself with the right clothes and make-up. Her hair is short enough for wigs, and the perfect colour for dying.

Character Details
Personality (at least 2 paragraphs):

Tel is only ever out for herself. Most of the time she works alone but when she does enlist the help of others it is very rare for them to know the full story behind the ‘job’. She is greedy and wants whatever is stolen for her and is not beyond treacherous acts to get it. She will go to any lengths to make sure she comes out with the better deal. She is ruthless, selfish and has a deep resentment for the rich and those whom are better off then herself. This fuels her thievery. When she is not being impulsive, she will seek out employment. Her immoral nature enables her to be hired by the most dubious of people, and take on even the most questionable and morally unsound of jobs.

She is cunning and adaptable, somehow always managing to find what she needs. No matter how impossible the job may be, or how elusive the object may seem she is versatile enough to make most things work in her favour to get what she wants/needs.

She has no sense of loyalty or honour and no close ties. She is elusive, changeable, one minute a hot head, the next as cold as ice. It is impossible to tell whether or not she is telling the truth, or indeed what she is thinking or feeling. She is impossible to read, pre-empt or trust because she is so adaptable and so sly. If emotion is registered upon her face it is most likely a lie and a ploy so do not trust it.

Likes (at least 5, with a sentence for each):
Shiny things: particularly rings.
Boats: This may be a result of her growing up in a port, or merely the fact that she has been on some impressive crafts, but being on a boat makes her feel like she is getting away with/from everything.
Mead: She loves her mead but her slight frame cannot handle too much of it. After only three flagons she is drunk
Heights’: considering her occupation this is a definite plus.
Cards: One of the many things she plays to pass the time in the worst taverns in the world.

Dislikes (at least 5, with a sentence for each):

Veils: For someone who likes/needs to hide her face, you’d think she’d appreciate this object of clothing. She hates it though. As with it comes revealing, feminine clothes and certain ‘expectations’.
User’s of the One Power: She has no particular hatred for them, she is merely jealous of their powers.
Rainy days: this is more understandable when you take into account the amount of times she has been on the road and slept in storms without any shelter.
Women: She is not kind when talking about her own sex, they annoy and frustrate her.
Relationships: Not the most reliable of partners, Tel normally takes what she wants and leaves in the dead of night. This can be applied to shiny things as well as men.

Character History
Family:

She lived on the dirty streets of Tanchico, and cannot remember her family. She may have been abandoned as a child, are orphaned. Either way she has no relatives, and no friends. No ties, and no loyalties. As least, this is what she claims. The truth of this may be something very far removed. It could be she ran away from home, and has a very loving family. There is no way to prove this one way or the other as she changes so much it is hard t recognise her from one day to the next.
Personal History:

Tel grew up on the streets of Tanchico. She was a street rat, a petty thief. She stole to live and lived to steal, that was her life and still is. Her memories of her early life are either repressed or she does not wish to talk about them. Either way there are few people who know her true origins, if anyone. She has no distinct features, so it is hard t tell if she is even a Taraboner, it is possible she is though, as she has a love for the city that only a native could possess. In her early teens she begun her travels, and stowed away on various vessels to bring her to such places as Ebou Dar, Tear, Mayenne and Saldaea. She hitched rides with merchants and pedlars to see such cities as Cairhien and Caemlyn and has even been to the Borderlands. She steals and sells on the road and outside of Tarabon is always moving, moving, moving.

She is currently on the road and heading for Tar Valon, with a petition to the Amyrlin Seat. This however, is a cover, as she plans on gaining access to the White Tower in order to steal from it.

Personal Goals and Philosophies:

Her main personal goal is to steal something rare enough so when she sells it on she can retire wealthy.

Her second, more risky, goal is to steal from the White Tower. Something from the Age of Legends and made of cuendillar is her ultimate object to steal.

Her philosophy is that there is no greater good, she does not care about status or rank - whether it be a Amyrlin Seat or Queen of Andor she has neither respect nor reverence for them, nor the beggar on the street. They are one and the same to her. She does not believe that anyone can be faithful or be true, and she believes there is no such thing as an unselfish good deed, so she may as well take what she wants and not feel guilty about it.

Jaerrc Rholc

Jaerrc Rholc
Aiel

"Beware lest you lose the substance by grasping at the shadow."

Character Attributes
Character's Full Name: Jaerrc Rholc
Status Desired (Red Tower, Royalty, or Citizen): Aiel
Home Country: Aiel Waste
Age: 31
Appearance:

Jaerrc wears the typical apparel of his people. His clothes of of an earthly hue, made to blend with the dry environment of the Aiel Waste. His veil rests on his chest, and he is always ready to cover his face with it if he needs to kill. That is one tradition that remains, it is part of who they are and although the Aiel recognise their origins they cannot deny what they became. As much as Jaerrc dresses like a warrior, he was forced to leave the Aethan Dor at the age of 18. He wears only cadin'sor now, and rues the fact that he was not made gai'shan. He believes it is the white of slaves that he deserves.

From his clothing he is not identifiable to any clan or sept or warrior society. He is merely Aiel. He trains alone and keeps to the training schedule of the Red Shield's, so therefore has kept his body toned and in shape. He has all the skills of living alone in the Waste and has tanned skin from living in the real outdoors. His dark eyes are windows into his pain and loneliness, his dark, jet black hair streaked with dark red and long and flowing. It is tied occasionally by rawhide strings, but most of the time is loose. He is short for an Aiel, only just pushing six feet, and his face is plain and not considered particularly handsome. Creases from years of worry and confusion mar his forehead and scars from skirmishes with bandits and beasts make a plain face even less becoming.

Character Details
Personality (at least 2 paragraphs):

Jaerrc wrongly believes he is da'tsang as he is not following Ji'e'toh. This is all in his mind, and it is he who despises himself. He believes his Ji'e'toh lies with the Red Shields and that by leaving he dishonoured them. The fact is he was forced to leave, not by them, but by fate. He is not a very forgiving man, and thinks of himself as one of the Mera'din. This to is foolish as his Sept and Clan still treat him as a brother, and his stubbornness causes him to fail to respect and accept that. This is definitely a flaw in his personality. Some think him quite self centred and reproachful for not making a decision one way or the other. Wallowing in self pity is not the way of the Aiel, and he does realise this to an extent. It is at these times seeks to travel and does more with his life and tends to travel either into the Blight or into the Wetlands.. He is hard on himself and despises his weakness and lack of courage to learn how to use saidin. He lives very much in the past and wanders alone for the most part. He sees this life as a punishment for touching the True Source. Only the legend of Rand stops him from killing himself. He knows there is a reason that this power is in him, and he knows he does have a reason to live and by killing himself he would be going against Ji'e'toh.

He is an introspective man, and although he is very observant of his environment, he is not a very good judge of character. He has been isolated for too long to learn of others characters and has nothing to compare people to. He is not exactly naive and totally trusting, but he is more affable and softer then most Aiel. He appears deep in thought most of the time, and his eyes reveal much about his mind. They are clear yet not seeing all and although he may appear more approachable then most Aiel he exudes this aura of distress and sadness.

Likes (at least 5, with a sentence for each):
Mead: Although he is ashamed to admit it he likes this wetlander drink.
Carving: This is something he does to relax.
Steddings: Here he finds peace for a time and is released from his Limbo and able to consider other things.
Travelling: He was born to move and to see the world, he would like to see it through the eyes of one with Ji'e'toh though.
Gleeman: He likes to hear the songs and stories of old.

Dislikes (at least 5, with a sentence for each):
Saidin: His belief that he is cursed is compounded by the fact he has no purpose beyond the life of a Wise One which no male seeks or considers and is therefore never prepared for.
Wetlanders: This is less specific and more general. The relations between his people and the wetlanders have improved over the last 200 years but old enmities do not die easily.
Rivers: Like most Aiel he hates rivers, but this is more then just a superstition and dislike of the unknown. He almost drowned in one of Rhuidean's rivers.
Trollocs: He has had more contact then most with these blighted beasts as when he first discovered he could touch the one power he went north into the Blight.
Ji'e'toh:Perhaps it is because he has none right now, or needs it, he dislikes the fact that he thinks about it constantly.

Character History
Family:

Of the Miagoma Clan, and the Cold Peak Sept.

He has no wife and therefore no home or property. His Sept welcome him but he does not feel worthy to be there as they refuse to make him gai'shan. His blood family miss him and want him to become a Wise One and rejoin his Sept.

Personal History:

Jaerrc grew up in the Miagoma Clan and joined the Red Sheild's when he was 12 years old. He was adept at fighting and soon found he had an aptitude for the training of a Red Shield and foresaw a life of adventure and contentment. When he was 18 however, these hopes were extinguished. One night after a days hunting, whilst making up the camp fire in a deserted canyon for his Sept friends, he used saidin for the first time. He was concentrating so hard on the firewood he did not notice his friends cower from him in fear. He had lit the fire without using flint, and they immediately knew what it meant. He fell into a coma son after (either from shame or shock or both), and was healed by the Wise One's and then taught how to control saidin enough to survive and not burn the ability from him.

Later he would wish he had died or been stilled as his life would never be the same again.

His clan and the Red Shield's refused to make him gai'shan, understandably, but he demanded they do so as he believed he had dishonoured them by using saidin. He abhorred his new obligation, his only real choice as an Aiel in need of obligation to become a Wise One. He refused to train and so forced exile upon himself, living in Limbo for over a decade.

The Wise Ones of the Aiel do not force men to train the One Power. The male Wise One's (who are few in number as only those born t it end up channelling) do not seek out male channellers. No Aiel male tries to force the One Power to manifest itself in them as they believe it still has a taint (a spiritual one, not a mental one). Jaerrc believed this to and so promised (but did not take an oath he knew he could not keep) to never use saidin. It was only because of the Dragon Reborn coming from their blood that they (the Aiel) no longer wandered into the north and into the retreating Blight. Jaerrc though, took up this ancient rite and went north and fought shadowspawn in the Blight. It was a miracle (or fate) that he survived but there he learned that dying in such a place was not honourable at all. He remembered that The Dragon had commanded that all male Aiel born with the ability to channel must have and make a choice. Their Ji'e'toh is to live, and they are not obliged to become wise ones or go to the Black Tower, but they are obliged to live. It took him a long time to accept this and realise that the Blight held only dishonour for him now...

This left Jaerrc in Limbo once more. He was saved all those years ago by the Wise One's who taught him about the Flame and the Void, and learned to at least survive by controlling the One Power, but because he was a male channeller there was still no other place for him in Aiel society. Either he had to become a Wise One, or he would have to wander the world with no Ji'e'toh. He knew he was not going against it by not choosing the life of a Wise One, but also knew that that life would give him purpose. For years he thought about his future and his destiny, knowing that as every year passed he was going deeper and deeper into this limbo life and making it more and more permanent. By not making a choice he was still choosing. And he knew it was an unworthy choice, a cowards choice.

He knew he had to decide one way or t'other, and this it was very hard for him. He grew up knowing the boundaries of his society and life, being told what to do and training hard and surviving the Waste. But saidin... it would destroy him faster would it not? Its taint on his soul would condemn him more then this unlife, surely? He had remembered how the one power felt, how it raged and sought to consume him...

Now though, this Limbo is destroying him and although he hates the idea of training he is searching for knowledge of the one power. For many years he lived out this Limbo in Rhuidean, watching other male channellers be raised as Wise One's. Now he seeks other ways, other teachings and is considering a visit to the Black Tower.

Personal Goals and Philosophies:

Pursuing Ji'e'toh - this is his main goal in life, as it is for all Aiel. He has lost his way and is determined to find it again.

His philosophy is war and battle and he believes the Black Tower may be able to combine his need for saidin (as the desire to use it grows year on year), and Ji'e'toh as well as his philosophy of battle. However he is concerned at the way these men fight with the one power and fears this Tower may prove to be a fool's hope.

Ridon Akuin

Ridon Akuin
Recruit

"When the student is ready, the master appears."

Character Attributes
Character's Full Name: Ridon Akuin
Status Desired (Red Tower, Royalty, or Citizen): Recruit
Home Country: Andor
Age:18
Appearance:

Ridon is quite short, standing at around 5'5''. He is extremely lean, and at first glance appears to be a bit of a push over. He does not like to walk around bare-chested like so many other recruits and some of the more vain warders, and often covers up. He has nothing to be ashamed of, as he has trained and toned his body from a relatively early age. As soon as he was old enough to build up his muscles (at around 15) he has worked hard at making his body ready for the gruelling training he was destined for as a recruit. His stamina is his advantage and ever since he was an early teen he has ran across harsh terrain to increase his endurance. He is fast over long distances and quite a good sprinter, even though his body favours endurance.

His dark, cropped hair is always messy; he has no vanity to speak of. His clothes are simple cotton shirts and slacks; lose for easy movement, and durable. His eyes are unremarkable, a dark grey that are often called cold and calculating. As he covers up most of the time his skin is quite pale, its natural complexion waxen and pallid. Even though he is off a small stature his body is toned and honed for combat and he is as strong and as skilful with weapons as those he has trained with as a recruit.

Character Details
Personality (at least 2 paragraphs):

A quiet young man, contemplative and often called philosophical. Ridon does not cleave to the physicality of being a warder, but rather respects the role that they play and has a deeply ingrained belief that the Aes Sedai are noble and their duty ordained of Light. He grew up in Andor, which has a history of supporting Tar Valon, and he was raised to respect the One Power and seek to aid it in whatever way he could. There is a tradition in his family for sending boys to train as Warders but until his cousin Simian, none had completed that training for almost a hundred years. He was written off as another failure when he did not develop physically as his family expected. He was smaller then his brothers, and seemingly more feeble. This lack of belief and casting aside inspired him to work hard at becoming a warder, and to do everything he could to make himself a warrior. His single mindedness and refusal to fail, and his ability to turn what should have been rejection into something positive summarises Ridon perfectly.

He is not a quitter, and he refuses t be bogged down with self doubt and denial. He does not shirk responsibility and despair if a problem seems unsolvable. Instead he works hard to find a solution. He has a strong sense of duty, and an unshakable loyalty. He is looking forward to being bonded and waits patiently for the day he will be made a Warder, eager to prove himself in his tests and make his family proud.

He looks up to Simian and sees him as the standard he must reach.

He can also be a bit of a loner sometimes as he is often the first to start training and the last to leave. He does have some close friends, but can be a bit of a killjoy sometimes, and would do well to find a brothel somewhere and as his friends put it 'loosen up'. He is someone to find endearing though, and his quiet attitude can often be overlooked, which is to the loss of those who do it.

Likes (at least 5, with a sentence for each):
Horses: Growing up in the rural area's of Andor and no where near a big city, the horses remind him of his childhood and he often mucks out and goes riding to relax.
Full Moons: Deep down Ridon is a romantic, and a full moon often disperses his pragmatic side.
Books: He could hardly be called an extensive reader, but the more sophisticated side of his training has opened up a new world to him. He loves reading...
Hunting: His skill with the bow a huge reason why he enjoys hunting. It was one of the only talents he had that his family respected, and as a Recruit it is a handy skill to have. He enjoys the hunt, and revels in his success, but modestly - of course.
Running: Particularly cross country.

Dislikes (at least 5, with a sentence for each):
Vanity: Ridon hates vain men and women and sees it as a serious flaw. He has little patience with vain people.
Travel: Probably not the most convenient of dislikes, as he may be bonded with an Aes Sedai who travels a lot, but Ridon is a homely soul and hopes he bonds with a Tower bound AS.
Hypocrisy: Quite an altruistic person, and unforgiving. He sees hypocrisy as dishonest and does not tolerate it.
Cheese: He is not a fan of cheese, the reason most likely being he tasted some as a child and promptly vomited it back up. He thinks all cheese looks and smells like vomit.
Class Divides: This has nothing to do with being brought up on a poor farm. Ridon is a kind soul and hates seeing people go without. The attitude of the rich is something he abhors and wishes there was an equal distribution of wealth.

For a young man, he really does think too much.

Character History
Family:

His father is a farmer and runs a small plot of land in the south of Andor. They are deep in the countryside and secluded from most people. The closest village is over twenty miles away. They sustained themselves, and sometimes made trips to the village to trade and buy off the passing pedlar or merchant. Ridon is the cousin of Simian Dacascos, whose mother is the sister of Ridon's own mother. His family all lived on various farms across the south of Andor and it was with them that they had most contact with and most socialisation. Ridon has three older brothers, and no other siblings. His mother died about a year after he left to train as a warder, and his brothers are all failed recruits.

Personal History:

Being such a young man, he does not have much of a story to tell. He was close to his mother, something his brothers often teased him about, and she taught him penitence, open mindedness, tolerance and love. He was the youngest child by almost eight years and his brothers had been to Tar Valon and failed before he was even in his teens. His father was not even going to send him to train, but at his mother’s behest, he relented. Ridon was taken to Tar Valon by Simian, and there he fell very quickly and with ease into the training and lifestyle of a Recruit. His dedication earned him respect from his tutors and his time as a Recruit has been the happiest time of his life. He looks forward to seeing his cousin when he visits, which alas is far less then he had hoped. Ridon believes in a Warders duty to his Aes Sedai though and never questions his cousin’s servitude of Rianna.

Ridon is close to becoming a warder, but he still has some important tests to take before he can be promoted. He expects Simian's return soon, as he has asked that he help him complete his training...

Personal Goals and Philosophies:

Ridon's primary goal is to become a Warder and serve an Aes Sedai to the best of his ability. He believes in their calling, and he supports the White Tower wholly. His personal philosophy is that of forbearance, selflessness and making the best out of what natural abilities you have been given. He believes all must try to turn weaknesses to strengths and that with perseverance anything is possible. Success is refusing to stay down after life has knocked you over and failure is giving up. If you spend your entire life trying then that is a noble life and demands respect. Some see is as foolhardy, Ridon sees it as determination.

Rianna Dequenne

Rianna Dequenne
Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah

"The past speaks to us in a thousand voices,
warning and comforting, animating and stirring to action."

Character Attributes

Character's Full Name: Rianna Dequenne
Status Desired (Novice, Accepted, Aes Sedai, Recruit, Warder): Aes Sedai
Ajah: Green
Age: 59
Home Country: Amadicia, The City State of Amador.
Appearance:

Rianna was born with a sparkle in her eyes, and she has always possessed an innate cunning which as a child was hidden beneath her innocent look and open features. Her sweet, cherub face and large emerald green eyes endeared her to her parents and her friends as a child, and as she matured she never lost that twinkle of mischief in her eye. Even her education in the white tower could not dull or diminish her penchant for adventure and devilry, and her innocent face often got her out of several lashings from her Mistress of Novices, who was at that time Temaithia Kesseei. As she progressed through her childhood she lost her round face, which narrowed and became more like her fathers; her high cheek bones accentuated her now more narrowed eyes, and her thin lips and pointed chin completed the look of a more severe looking young woman. She was born with extremely curly blonde hair, but the colour lost its white vibrancy and became a somewhat richer strawberry blonde, although she never lost her curls they did lengthen (as she refuses to wear her hair above her chin) and became long ringlets. This is her vanity. Her hair is precious to her, and she is quite obsessive over it. She believes it to be her saving grace, her one beauty. Her time as a novice made her paranoid about her hair as it was used as a way to punish her. Several times during her time in the white tower, as novice and accepted, she had her hair cut to her ears as punishment for several transgressions. She abhors her freckled skin and often obscures her face with her strawberry blonde ringlets.

As an Aes Sedai she wears a silver chain in her hair with several emeralds hanging like charms from it; the largest of which settles high on her forehead. She is slender and of average height, around 5’6’’. Her limbs are willowy and often she is referred to as “clumsily built” and a “graceless, ill shaped woman”. This is extremely harsh on Rianna, as she is not particularly tall and hardly looms over people. She just has a problem controlling her flailing limbs. This helps and hinders her with her weaves as for some more complex and difficult ones her flexible arms and hands aid her, but it’s the simple weaves she has a problem producing. Even now, in the new age of Legends where hand gestures are no longer taught or needed or at least not as compulsorily as they once were in the White Tower, Rianna has come to rely on them. She was berated in her days as a novice for relying on them, and as she matured she was advised to discard them altogether. Rianna is as stubborn as she is cunning though, and so developed this reputation of appearing clumsy and less graceful as an Aes Sedai.

She is moderately pretty, and in some instances can appear very plain. She is a pale woman, and her hair really is her most beautiful feature. Here figure is of no particular note. She is slim, but that is due to her constant travelling, and therefore regular exercise. Her hips are as alluring as the next woman’s, although as a Green she does know how to use them better them most Aes Sedai perhaps. That at least, in this new age, has not really changed. She possesses the ageless beauty like all Aes Sedai, but there is always that mischievous, cunning glint in her eye, even though she has gained the shawl. Her clothes vary, as she prefers to dress according to what country she is in. In the White Tower however, she tends to dress in a light green silk dress and slippers and of course her shawl, with its green fringe. On her left hand fourth finger, she wears the gold Aes Sedai ring, the serpent eating its own tale, an ancient symbol of the wheel of time itself.

Character Details
Personality (at least 2 paragraphs):

Rianna is a stubborn woman. She always has been. She likes things done her way, and is often outspoken about the things she disagrees with. As a novice she often got rebuked for talking back and even as an adult and full Aes Sedai she tends to break convention but not acceding to those stronger in the One Power or considered influential. This is why she does not spend a lot of time in the White Tower. Considered by most to be a rather disrespectful and strange Aes Sedai, she is often ridiculed in private and ignored in public by most outside of her own Ajah.

She is kind though, and the Greens are endeared to her because she is so passionate and feisty.

She is dogmatic and can sometimes be blinded by her own assumptions and eagerness. She often ignores the opinions and feelings of others and disregards most peoples advice. The only person she truly listens to is Simian, but this is nothing to do with respect. She knows he always tells her the truth and its the truth that she respects. All the subversion and misdirection that Aes Sedai are prone too annoys her, she prefers to be upfront and completely honest, truly keeping her oaths and fulfilling her role and duty as Aes Sedai.

She is not as much of a flirt as most greens, but does enjoy wearing clinging dresses and robes. She keeps her affairs to herself and is a very private person. Her relationships are not well known and she does not like expressing any other emotion other then her passion for her cause. Her relationship with her warder is a complex one, as they are both very complex and altruistic people. They are attracted to one another, but are unsure as to whether or not they should express these sexual feelings, they do not want to affect their working relationship and feel that a relationship beyond warder and Aes Sedai might effect their ability to protect one another. She loves him, she knows this, but she will not pursue it, well... not unless he does.

Likes (at least 5, with a sentence for each):

Anything from the Age of Legends: She has an obsession with artefacts. Some of her sisters think she missed her calling as a Brown, such is her interest in these things.
Singing: Rianna does not have a sweet voice, but she does enjoy singing. Hardly a Songstress, but she can carry a tune without breaking every glass in the room or making the dogs howl.
Rivers: And any body of water. She finds that water calms her. This is ironic as she has no aptitude with water weaves at all.
History: Rianna enjoys learning about the history of her world, again, something which is more becoming of a Brown.
Horse riding: This is something she has always enjoyed doing, and as she travels so much she gets to d a lot of it.

Dislikes (at least 5, with a sentence for each):

Late nights and early mornings: Rianna enjoys her sleep.
Camping: Especially in bad weather. If there is an Inn and a bed, she will find it.
Snobbery: One of her pet peeves are people with their noses in the air; especially other Aes Sedai who treat people like muck.
Stairs: She is not lazy per se. She hates going doing them as much as she hates climbing them. She tends to fall down them if she is not being careful.
Cooking: Out of all domestic chores, this is the worst. She relies heavily on her warder and her purse to either buy or make food. She is not very self sufficient.

Character History
Family:

Rianna was born in Amador, heart of Amadicia and home of the once formidable Children of the Light. The Children dwindled after the Last Battle, as Amadicia accepted the role which the One Power played in saving their world. Once a dangerous place for Aes Sedai, Amadicia now no longer has anti channeller laws, yet the Children of the Light still exist and they still abhor the One Power.

A few Questioners continued to propagate their beliefs and over the ensuing two hundred years recruited enough people to make the Children of the Light strong again. This new order, following the beliefs of the Questioners, made Amador a city state that is now separate from the rest of Amadicia.

Rianna’s father is a Captain in this new order of Children of the Light.

Rianna’s mother discovered the girl could channel when she was around 14 years old. She mysteriously healed her baby brother after he had fallen out of a tree. Rianna suddenly became very sick, and her father feared she would die, but shockingly she recovered a few hours later. Her father mentioned his children’s’ miraculous recoveries to his comrades and they warned him that she might be able to channel, that she might possess the ability to use the One Power. Their beliefs and accusations plagued him and he fought with himself over whether or not his own daughter really was a darkfriend… His family home was outside of the city, on an estate in the country. He sped home as fast as his horse could carry him, intent on dealing with the scourge that plagued his house. By the time he returned he found that his wife, Rianna’s mother, had packed her daughter off to the White Tower to train as an Aes Sedai.

Personal History:

Rianna has been an Aes Sedai since she was 31, was an Accepted at the age of 23 and a novice at the age of 16.

Air = 9
Fire = 8
Water = 4
Earth = 5
Spirit = 9
TOTAL = 35/50

Rianna arrived in Tar Valon amidst confusion, sorrow and betrayal in her heart. She had left her mother t the mercy of her father and had travelled hundreds of miles to a place she had never even heard of until the night she left. She had listened as her mother, her face streaking with tears, explained to her why she had t leave. When she was shown to her room in the novice quarters she cried all night, but dutifully, and because her mother had wanted it, put n her white dress and decided to not make her mothers sacrifice a vain one.

Hers was a life of simplicity, hard work and discipline for seven, long years. Her room was small and stark, the furnishings bare and plain. It was so far removed from what she had been used to on her parent’s huge estate that she often made mistakes and assumptions that got her lashed by the Mistress f Novices. It did not take her too long to settle though and soon she was being lashed for practical jokes and clumsy performances of weaves.

She hated her chores and would do anything to get out of them. She didn’t see the point of them as the Tower had well over a thousand serving men and women. She was told, during her many lashing sessions, that “physical work helped build character”, but this was a lesson that never sunk into Rianna. The welts sunk deeper then any lessons that seemed as pointless as this one.

Rianna was extremely surprised when she was summoned for her test for Accepted. She had been told time and again that she would never progress past being a novice and that she was too clumsy to learn any weaves well enough t become Aes Sedai. Rianna may have ignored these words at the time, but they always sunk deep into her heart when she was alone in her room at night. She practised hard, often getting n sleep and earning herself more punishments for being late to classes. So, when she faced the arches that were ter'angreal deep in the lower levels of the White Tower, she was more confident then any of them thought she should be. She shivered as she stared at the three silver arches which were filled with an odd flickering light. She did not refuse to go through, as she now had nothing else to come back to. She needed to progress and it was here that the Aes Sedai first saw the battling spirit and refusal to give up that would later be one of her greatest attributes.

When walked through the first arch she found she had returned to her childhood home. Her mother was trying to get her onto a horse and she was crying and trying to get off. Instead of riding away she decided to get ff and go back inside with her mother. She was afraid for her and feared the return of her father. Instead she confronted him, stood up to him and faced his awful accusations. Just as he drew his sword the archway appeared and she knew she could go back through it. She continued onto the next arch and faced her second fear. She had been thrown out of the Tower for failing her test for Accepted and was being forced to return home again. When she got there the estate had been burnt to the ground and she encountered the grave of her mother and brother. Her father came out of the house with Whitecloaks and arrested her. She was taken to be tortured and put t death, and in the cell she accepted her failures but vowed to return to the Tower and try again. She would not deny who she was and she was proud of it, and would avenge her mother and brother. In the wall of her prison the archway appeared and she exited. Her final test was her ultimate fear of the future. She was alone in the Tower, wearing her green shawl and as she passed a mirror she saw she was extremely old. The world was a wasteland outside and trollocs roamed the broken city and ate whoever they could catch and find. Rianna looked out from the Tower and could not watch any more. She went to confront them and decided it was better to die fighting then to live in such a world as this. She could not stand by and watch people suffer. As the trollocs approached her the archway appeared, and she almost did not go through it. Something in the back of her mind screamed at her saying she had the chance to fight and to stop this world from degenerating; all she had to do was walk through the archway. And so she did, and passed her test for Accepted.

When she received her ring she was dignified and did not shed a tear. She had faced her fears and knew she would be able to overcome her ineptitude with her weaves as well. She simply put on her banded dress and a Great Serpent ring, and moved on to her time as one of the Accepted.

Her time as Accepted was as unvaried and uneventful as her time as a Novice. She taught classes, occasionally got punished for her misdemeanour's, and worked harder then ever on conquering her weaknesses. She proved to be more adept at the harder weaves but was constantly let down by her over compensation with the easier weaves. She now had a larger and more comfortable room, but by now she had lost her nobility and forgotten the house of her father. She was grateful for the extra room, but it did not aid her in her training. She had friends, but one by one they either were thrown out of the Tower or passed their test for the shawl.

After eight years of rehearsing the sequence of one hundred complex weaves, she was called to take her test for the shawl. When she entered the spinning ring structure she was immediately in a ferocious storm. She started forming her weaved, and one by one she got closer to the one hundred mark. She endured many harrowing and painful experiences, running whilst performing a complex weave using all five powers, but nearly stumbled when she had to produce one of the easier ones. Her goal of becoming Aes Sedai almost ended here, but she managed to save the weave at the last moment and completed all one hundred. She kept her composure, performing all the weaves perfectly, and in order, whilst maintaining an outward serenity that none thought possible for Rianna Dequenne. She passed her test for the shawl; but she was very badly injured at the end of the test. She was given Healing there and then, and sent off for a night of meditation. Although expected to stay awake all night, despite her certain exhaustion, and reflect on her new duties, Rianna did what Rianna does best, and that was skip out and go to the river. It was there she reflected, and fell asleep by the river, making her late in receiving her shawl and taking her oaths the next day… The binding to the Oath Rod was chilling, the oaths sinking into her. She was looking forward to testing out her ‘lies’, and did not hesitate in choosing the Green Ajah. She had known from her test for Accepted that that was what she wanted and what she was destined for.

She learned to tame the One Power but Tar Valon did not completely tame her. It was this desire to be about her own business and battle the world and all its wrongs that made her perfect for the Green Ajah. Her interest in history was sparked by her first visit to Tar Valon’s library. There she made firm friends with members of the Brown Ajah, who often commented on her strange addiction to books and the odd choice of Ajah. Those who really knew her though, realised that this thirst for knowledge preceded an idea. She was looking for something, and soon, after many months of reading, found her calling.

She had been in the section that few Aes Sedai bothered to go any more. With the Talent for making cuendillar rediscovered by Egwene the White Tower had been making new objects similar to those made in the Age of Legends for over two hundred years. Yet, Rianna was fascinated by the objects of this period and the notes written on them. It was a book about the rumoured missing artefacts that intrigued her though. She logged the description, believed purpose and the last location of these objects in a diary and set off into the world to find them.

She gained a reputation for finding relics of the Age of Legends, and became a favourite amongst the Browns. It was only the nature of these artefacts that gave her the continued support of her own Ajah. They were items of supposed great power, some believed to be weapons, or devices that discovered darkfriends. She had no real personal interest in how they worked, that was what the Brown Ajah was for. No, she loved the hunt, and the adventure, and being the one to discover these mysteries and add to the White Towers collection of weapons from this age. For it had been such an artefacts that had cleansed Saidin…if she could find something that might one day fight the Dark One and his minions; then she was fulfilling her role as a Green sister.

Decades passed and her loneliness grew, the absence of a Warder starting to weigh heavily upon her. Like most Greens she enjoyed the company of men, but had until a few years ago never had a Warder. Why she waited so long, no one really knew, and she never talked about it. Some believed she had fallen in love with a man who was not a warder, and so thought it inappropriate to have one.

Unlike most Aes Sedai, Rianna was always considered reckless; her penchant for diving in at the deep end into most situations eventually put her in serious danger and almost ended in her death. She was in Andor at the time and had stepped in to help a woman who was being harassed by some men in an alleyway, when she was grabbed from behind and a knife put to her throat. Before the man could slit it, he was pulled off her and had a stranger’s sword through him. The rest of the men were also dead. Standing there was her future warder, Simian Dacascos.

She is currently returning to Tar Valon to discuss a ter’angreal she recently discovered.

Personal Goals and Philosophies:

She has no ambitions in furthering herself as an Aes Sedai. She does not aspire t be a sitter, or Amyrlin, and does not want to be the leader of her Ajah. Her only goals lie in finding ter’angreal.

Her philosophy is simple. Take what you have and make it better. She still practices her weaves and even though she has been advised to cease with the hand gestures she is stubborn and refuses to change. In the back of her mind she thinks that maybe it would improve her weaves and proficiency with them and has started to drop the hand gestures with some of the simpler weaves.

List of Weaves

 WEAVE DESCRIPTIONS

An understanding of the True Source allows channellers to grasp the immense potency of the One Power. Weaves let them put that power to use. Weaves are like formulas, or magic spells-methods by which the One Power is manipulated to create the often awesome effects that only channelers can achieve.

Weaves are listed here by Talent, along with the elemental energy used to cast it as well as an indication of how common the weave is among channelers.

BALEFIRE
Balefire
Air, Earth, Fire, Spirit, Water (Very Rare)
You point your finger, and a pencil-thin beam of white hot light, so bright it makes the sun seem dark, leaps instantly forth. The balefire slices neatly and hotly through any material or object (except cuendillar, the only material impervious to balefire), out to its maximum range or until it strikes a living creature. A creature struck by this beam is utterly destroyed, vanishing in a haze of motes.
Balefire doesn't just destroy its target instantly - it actually destroys it back through time, as the creature's thread is literally burned out of the Pattern. Everything the creature did over the period that is burned out and everything that resulted from its actions during that period is undone, leaving only the memory of those who witnessed the target's actions.
Because of this damaging effect to the pattern, the Aes Sedai consider it criminal to even learn how to use it.

CLOUD DANCING
Foretell Weather
Air, Water (Common)
You can feel the changes in the weather. The farther into the future you sense, the less distinct the information.
Also known as 'Listening to the Wind'

Harness The Wind
Air Water (Common)
You conjure a wind over an area, choosing the wind's direction. Although the weave takes effect immediately, the wind builds over time depending on the caster's strength.

Lightning
Air, Fire (Common)
You call lightening from the sky. Although this weave takes effect immediately, it might take time for the lightening to build up, depending on the caster's strength. Since the lightening comes from the sky, this weave can only effectively cast in an open-air area.

Raise Fog
Air Water (Common)
A dense fog congeals over a targeted area.

Warmth
Air, Fire (Common)
You cause the air around you to warm (or cool).

CONJUNCTION
Bond Warder
Spirit (Common)
You create a special, permanent bond between yourself and the target. See Bonding.

Compulsion
Air, Earth, Fire, Spirit, Water (Very Rare)
This weave allows you to influence or command the target person. Your control takes effect instantly, even if the target is hostile.

False Trail
Air, Earth, Spirit (Common)
Upon casting this weave, you create a diversionary trail that misleads creatures following you or your party. As you cast, you point in any direction you choose and your footprints and scent seem to extend from you current location into the direction you point for a distance determined by you casting strength. As you travel, you will leave no scent or footprints for the same distance, making it impossible for you to be tracked by nonsupernatural means.

Pass Bond
Spirit (Common)
You cast this weave and touch the target channeller who becomes the future recipient of your bonded Warder. When you die, your bond with your Warder does not automatically end. This weave affects a single Warder only.
This weave can be negated by the caster. The target does not need to be touched or even present.

Sense Shadowspawn
Spirit (Common)
When you cast this weave, you feel a sense of discomfort that tells you shadowspawn are near, although it does not indicate type, number, direction or location. Range depends on the casting strength.

Trace
Spirit (Common)
You sense the air about you for the presence or recent passage of a person known to you. If the target is carrying a gift given by you, the effectiveness is greatly increased.

EARTH SINGING
Earth Delving
Earth (Common)

Earthquake
Earth (Common)

Grenade
Earth, Fire (Common)

Polish
Earth (Common)

Riven Earth
Earth, Fire (Common)

ELEMENTALISM
Arms of Air
Air (Common)

Blade of Fire
Air, Fire (Common)

Create Fire
Fire (Common)

Current
Spirit, Water (Common)

Cutting Lines of Fire
Air, Fire (Lost)

Dry
Water (Common)

False Wall
Air, Earth (Common)

Fiery Sword
Air, Fire, Spirit (Common)

Fireball
Air, Fire (Common)

Fly
Air, Spirit (Common)

Harden Air
Air (Common)

Immolate
Fire, Spirit Coluaninvar, Dedicated of the Black Tower

Character's Full Name: Ries Coluaninvar
Status Desired: Dedicated
Home Country: Shienar
Age: 25
Appearance: Ries is slightly above average height and though not exceptionally big, he is well-muscled and fit. He has dark hair and grey eyes and his height makes him look far more slender than he is. He usually prefers dark clothing, nothing flashy, and when he travels he wears a grey cloak. His normal outfit is a combination of dark leathers and black silk. Ries doesn't pay much attention to his appearance and though he keeps himself clean and presentable it is not uncommon to see him a little frayed around the edges at times.

Character Details
Personality: Ries had a strange life growing up and though it has left its mark on him, it hasn't turned him into a bitter or harsh person. Yes, he is far more survival oriented in that he always tries to make sure he has a quick exit out of any situation (personal or professional) and he primarily looks out for himself and himself only.
Since joining the Black Tower as a student, he has mellowed quite a bit, but he still struggles with teamwork and trust. He doesn't come across as a nice or gentle person and he is often stubborn to a fault. Despite this, he seems to have a core morality - a sense of what he feels is right and what is wrong - and he sticks to it more often than not. Ries views this side of himself with more than a little irritation, but he also realises that if he loses such a grounding trait he will become a person he wouldn't like very much.
He gets along well with others socially, but doesn't often let people into what he would consider to be a very limited circle of friends. When he does, he is as loyal a friend as anyone could hope for.
Likes:
Good food - Ries has a particular weakness for good food. He will often go out of his way to get a well-cooked meal.
Blades - Ries is rather obsessed with swords and it is the one part of his training that he particularly enjoys.
Horses - Ever since he was a child, Ries has enjoyed riding horses.
Travelling - Seeing new things and places has always been a highlight.
Games of chance and skill - Ries has a liking for games of chance and skill. He can often be seen roping in a few of his fellows for some invented game or another.
Dislikes:
Staying in one place too long - Ries is plagued by a desire to wander and staying in one place to long often puts him in a foul mood.
Liars - Ries dislikes people who lie intensely
Cheats - Being a lover of games, Ries cannot abide a cheat and will often be moved to violence by them.
Strong drink - unfortunately, drinking has a bad effect on him. Though most who know him knows he doesn't drink, few know exactly why.
The Great Blight - having grown up in a Borderland, Ries has no liking for the Great Blight and just the mention of it stirs his emotions at times.

Character History
Family:
Viel and Rierina Coluaninvar (Father and Mother)
Cvianin (sister)
Personal History:
Ries was born in Shienar in the city of Fal Moran to a minor noble family. As was customary, Ries was groomed at an early age for service in his nation's military. The Coluaninvar family had a proud heritage of service to their nation and have fought to hold back the Blight for generations. Ries, as the only remaining son, was expected to carry on that tradition. He was indoctrinated and taught to seek any advantage and look out for himself (and his family) first.

Strange things happened around him, however. Though it was ignored and even glossed over at first, it didn't take long for his mentors to realise that he possessed the ability to channel. At his own request, and over his parent's protests, he asked to be sent to the Black Tower for training. After much debate and argument, and the support of his sister, he eventually gained his parent's blessing.

He became a Soldier for the Black Tower and the course of his life was irrevocably altered. At first, he found it hard to adapt to the regimented and sometimes harsh training of the Black Tower, but Ries was nothing if not adaptable. He was a Borderlander and struggle, danger and harshness was something he was born to.

Even as a Soldier, he was required to serve the Black Tower in the field. This suited him just fine as he preferred to travel rather than remain in one place. Though he started with menial tasks, like delivery of messages, in between his training, he was soon assigned to accompany senior Asha'man on more important missions. As his confidence grew, so did his skill and ability.

Ries grew into his role with the Black Tower and, as his view of the world changed, he started to excel in his training. He was soon deemed ready to graduate and be tested for the rank of Dedicated. His experience, training and talent paid off and he was successful. Now, as a newly promoted Dedicated, he is ready to serve the cause of the Black Tower.

Personal Goals and Philosophies: Ries had always been taught to look out for himself, his family, his nation and then everything else, in that order. Since joining the Black Tower, he has come to realise that such a narrow view of the world is dangerous and unwise. He has several internal struggles with both his own morality, desire to survive as well as his desire to advance.

List of Talents

A Talent, such as Healing or Cloud Dancing(the ability to affect the weather), is a set of related weaves, some covering hundreds of different magical effects and others composed of only a few weaves very similar in effect.
Generally speaking, a channeller can learn any weave within their Talent, but can only cast or learn relatively low-level weaves in Talents they do not have.
Saidin and Saidar are different forces, and men and women handle the One Power differently. Nonetheless, the result of the weave is the same even if the way in which it is cast is different.

BALEFIRE
Balefire is a very rare Talent of extraordinary destructive power. There is only a single weave in the Balefire Talent but it is enough to grant a channeller enormous-and enormously dangerous-power.

CLOUD DANCING
The Cloud Dancing Talent connects the channeller with the primal forces of weather, allowing him/her to control wind, rain, warmth and even lightning.

CONJUNCTION
The Conjunction Talent deals with the bonds between people. One of the most common Talents among Aes Sedai, its weaves grant the channeler the ability to bond a Warder, detect the location of others, and sense Shadowspawn.

EARTH SINGING
This Talent connects the channeler with the earth. It's weaves grant the channeler the ability to sense minerals, split the earth open and create land shaking earthquakes. It is not a common talent among any of the female channeling traditions.

ELEMENTALISM
This Talent, one of the most common among all channeling traditions, relates to the control of the elements: the creation of light and fire, control over water and the use of hardened air as a tool or weapon.

HEALING
The Talent of Healing involves repairing damage done to the body and mind; the fine work of accellerating and assiting the body's natural healing process. Ironically, though, the same skills apply to damageing the body and mind - hence, a number of weaves within this Talent involve inflicting pain, damage, and death. Fortunately, most of these weaves are rare.

ILLUSION
Weaves of this Talent affect the minds and sense of those who witness them, causing them to experience often spectacular effects.

TRAVELING
The weaves of this powerful Talent allow the channeler to travel great distances in short periods of time - or even instantaneously. Furthermore, some Traveling weaves create bridges to entirely different realms, such as Tel'aran'rhoid

WARDING
Wards protect the channeler or an object or place, from the observation or interference of others. Warding is a very common Talent, especially among the Aes Sedai.
The area encompassed by a warding weave cannot overlap, contain, or be contained within another warding weave.

ANGREAL/TER'ANGREAL/SA'ANGREAL RECOGNITION

DREAMWALKING

FORETELLING

Character Creation Guide

I'd like to join AoC, so now what?
First, are you familiar with Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series of books? It's perfectly fine if you are not, but it should influence the type of character you create. We allow all new members to create any type of character they would like, but the older and more complex the character, the longer and more detailed history we require for the application.

We have four types of beginning level characters for new members who do not have a lot of familiarity with the Wheel of Time, and we try to work in these types of characters into our storyline a little slower than some of the other types of characters which require more attention to background information.

Novice of the White Tower - Novices are beginning-level female spellcasters. Aes Sedai are fully trained spellcasters, and they reside in the White Tower. Aes Sedai are always female, and this plays an important part of the story line of AoC. Novices are just beginning to learn to use their power, and we guide novices through some of the history and background of the story through classes. The classes are not required, but we encourage participation and suggest you at least read those threads to familiarize yourself with the background story of the Wheel of Time world. A novice goes through a test to rise to the level of Accepted. We require only that you have 50 posts, in any forum but the games forum, and add the description of your test to your profile. You may choose to roleplay it out, which is fine, but not required. Another 50 posts, and a description of your second test is required to be raised from Accepted to Aes Sedai. The purpose of the post limit is mainly to help you get acquainted with the background and history of the site.

Warder Recruits - Warders are male fighting-based protectors of Aes Sedai. They bond with Aes Sedai using a spell that not only connects them and the Aes Sedai so they are able to sense the emotions and whereabouts of each other, but it also gives the Warder longer life and extra strength. Warders are not spellcasters, but learn to fight with sword, staff, knife, and by hand. Recruits are able to raise to full Warders after 50 posts by having an Aes Sedai has to agree to accept the character as a Warder.

Soldiers of the Black Tower - The Black Tower is where the male casters reside, and fully trained male casters are called Asha'man. In the past, male channelers went insane from using their power, which was tainted by evil. The taint was removed, but male casters are still met with distrust and suspicion. Soldiers also raise to Dedicated after 50 posts and a summary of their experience as a Soldier in their profile, and again using the same process to full Asha'man.

Citizens - In our story world, there are all types of citizens, but the most common are merchants. Tar Valon, the city where AoC is primarily set, is rich and full of activity. Other types of citizens can include Gleemen, which are bards, regular soldiers and guards of the city, and sailors, as Tar Valon sits on a large port. Shadier citizens, such as thieves and rogues, require a more complicated application, which you are free to attempt.

Caster Scores
To make things fair, we've implemented a dice roll caster level system. After your profile has been approved, an admin will send you a set of numbers from an online dice roller. There are five numbers, which you will assign to Air, Fire, Water, Earth, and Spirit, and the overall score determines how strong your character is in the One Power.

Every caster on the site, from admins to novices are subject to the dice roller, and we're keeping strict records, along with copies of the emails. Within the Aes Sedai, strength in the One Power determines the social pecking order. This is not so much true for the Black Tower or the Kin.

Because you do not know your caster strength before you are approved, please do not make any references to how powerful your character is in your application.

Notes on Character Creation
1. Talents are by application after 150 posts on one character. We do not deny talents from our list if they are well explained with a solid reason for roleplaying them. However, each player is only allowed to apply one talent to one character, so choose your talent and the character to which to apply the talent wisely. You may suggest new talents, but there needs to be a solid roleplaying reason for adding that talent, and we reserve the right to deny any new talents.
2. We do allow for characters to become Darkfriends, but they must make a secret application after having at least 100 posts. On AoC, Darkfriends are "secret" and cannot become visibly "dark" without submitting the plot to the admins for approval. They have a secret plotting forum where players may develop secret plots and have their characters work them outwithout letting on that they are a Darkfriend. The application must show a sense of detail, and a solid understanding of our plot and the Wheel of Time world. The number of Darkfriends is also limited in ratio to the number of members on the site. We also keep it in ratio of the numbers of staff to members (i.e. we don't want staff to take up all the positions). The application can be found in the signups forum under the plot developments forum.

White Tower Characters | Black Tower Characters | Red Tower | Other Races and Special Groups

AoC Character Creation Forum

Red Tower Characters

The Red Tower
Before the Last Battle and according to prophecy, the Empress of Seanchan, via Tuon and Mat, surrendered power of the Seanchan to Rand al'Thor, the Dragon Reborn. The Seanchan fought in Tarmon Gaidin alongside both the White and Black Towers. During this process, it became known that sul'dam could be taught to channel just as damane. As a form of exile, Rand al'Thor ordered Elaida al'Roidan to take the Red Ajah to Seanchan to deal with the chaos left once the nobles of Seanchan realized that sul'dam could learn to channel.

Since Egwene reestablished Traveling, the Red Tower could come back and forth from Seanchan relatively quickly, despite the enormous distance. However, the rest of the White Tower considered them in exile, and they were not welcomed for a very long time by the majority of the Tower. As most Aes Sedai did not remember that time, more and more of both the Red and White Towers are considered reuniting the seven Ajahs once again.

Currently, the Red Tower only accepts full sisters. This is likely to change in the future. The length of historyrequired is the same as for Aes Sedai.

Black Tower Characters

 Asha'man on Wikipedia

The Black Tower
The Black Tower focuses much more on Battle than the Aes Sedai, but as Tarmon Gaidin has been over, and Rand al'Thor passed away, more and more divisions are occurring over the purpose of the Black Tower and the Asha'man. Since the taint is no longer there, men can channel without fear of going mad, which starts to bring up questions of whether or not another Age of Legends can be brought into power. Men and women can channel together again, and remake the greatest works of the Age of Legends.

There's a lot more possibilities now that saidin is clean: rejoining the towers, recreating the masterworks, developing new angrael, fully exploring and gaining control over Tel'aran'rhiod, recruiting male channelers, studying how saidin works, male royal councilors and advisors, and so on. A whole lot more than fighting shadowspawn is possible, and so the Asha'man are beginning to divide into smaller groups, much like the White Towers Ajahs. Time will tell if these develop into more formal divisions within the Black Tower.

Soldiers
Soldiers are the lowest rank of the Black Tower.

Dedicated
Dedicated are the middle rank of the Black Tower. They are more skilled than Soldiers, but not competent enough with saidin to be Asha'man.

Asha'man
Asha'man are full members of the Black Tower. Ranks above Asha'man are treated more like military officers than as a separate division.

White Tower Characters

Wiki on Aes Sedai - the history and makeup of Aes Sedai

Accepted
If you are applying for an Accepted character, you must post a paragraph in your history about your time as a novice, as well as a paragraph on your test for Accepted in addition to a paragraph on your history before coming to the White Tower.

Aes Sedai
Aes Sedai require more history, for their early history, their time as a novice, their novice test, their time as an Accepted, their test for Aes Sedai, and further history as an Aes Sedai. Since right before Tarmon Gaidin, or the Last Battle, they have been more common in other lands. They are skilled warriors and fighters, and have their own unique caster class called "Wise Ones". Wise ones are predominantly female, but since the taint has been removed from saidin, male casters are more common.

There are thirteen Aiel clans. The Jenn Aiel are no longer a tribe, and the Shaido are very weak after being mostly destroyed in several battles before Tarmon Gaidin.

Please refer to the Aiel Wiki for more information about the Aiel.

The Kin
The Kin are a group of female casters who have generally been thrown out of the White Tower, left the Tower, or retired from the Tower. In the past, they were a secret society, in fear of being found out by the Aes Sedai, but when Egwene al'Vere realized that unbound casters lived for much longer than Aes Sedai, she instituted a retirement program for Aes Sedai to retire and live out much longer lives.

WoT Resources

General Resources
WoT Wiki
Chronology

Book Information
Chapter Summaries

Misc Resources
Name Generators
List of Weaves

AoC Wiki Home

 What is Age of Cuendillar?
Age of Cuendillar is a Wheel of Time-based roleplaying site. Her body was found floating in the water outside of Tar Valon. Having only served as Amyrlin for 18 years, those of Tar Valon are shocked and horrified. There are no obvious clues to her death.

A new successor must be chosen as soon as possible, but the Sitters are divided over a number of deep philosophical issues plaguing the whole of the White Tower. What is the most important direction for the Tower at this time - rebuilding another Age of Legends, predicting the next round of the wheel, or investigating the mysterious murder? Do Darkfriends still exist, and are they still part of the Tower? Are Red Tower sisters still a part of the White Tower? How much does the Tower compromise to work with the Black and Red Towers?

After the Last Battle and the Dark One was banished outside of time once again, Rand al'Thor, the Dragon Reborn, made a deal with Elaida a'Roihan to move the entire Red Ajah to the continent of Seanchan to deal with the devastation left once the Seanchan realized sul'dam could channel. They have acted as a ruling council of Seanchan, training sul'dam and damane into Aes Sedai, and restoring order from chaos.

It is over 200 years after the Last Battle, and there are few living who remember it firsthand. The White Tower now holds a stable, but not terribly friendly alliance with the Black Tower. Asha'man can choose to become Bonded with sisters, alongside Warders. Many feel that the great accomplishments of the Age of Legends can be remembered and recreated, but who is in charge of whom?

It is an exciting time, and yet a time fraught with many questions, big and small. Can the center hold or are there too many philosophies and personal agenda?
